Winter 2022 NJCTGA News

The Winter 2022 Edition of NJCTGA News is now available!

We take a quick look back at how the 2021 Christmas Season worked out,  and while COVID was still a worry, our farms were especially busy given the  Christmas Tree shortage.  Looking to Spring 2022, continued supply chain issues, especially with fertilizers, may be a challenge.  Mim Dunne shares her wisdom on the proper way to shear trees, with a focus on Canaan Firs. In this edition, Otterbein Farms in Somerset County is in the Growers Spotlight. We take a look at the history of the farm, as well as the changes and innovations Jack Otterbein has made over the years.  The forecast for Christmas 2022 is that  New Jersey’s Christmas Tree Farms are likely to see another record  year, high demand and heavy traffic at farms.
