Ann Brooks Gould, Specialist In Ornamental Pathology, NJAES
Ann Gould is our local expert in plant pathology and will be be talking on diseases found in our Christmas trees. In recent years, a number of “new” pathogens have been showing up in our fields and giving growers fits. Ann will give us the latest information on identifying, treating and hopefully controlling these troublesome problems. Rhabdolcine Needlecast is no longer the only fungal issue growers are seeing. Things like Swiss Needlecast in Douglas-fir, Rhizosphera Needlcast in Blue Spruce, Weir’s Cushion (Spruce Rust) in Blue Spruce, needlecasts of Fraser, Concolor and Balsam firs and various root diseases have all been found in plantations along the east coast, do you have any? Anne is always happy to answer your questions and will be available throughout the meeting.
Patricia Hastings, Program Associate, NJAES Pest Management Office
Pat Hastings is NJ’s expert on Pesticide Safety and Worker Protection compliance. She will provide needed updates to keep all of us in compliance with State and Federal regulations and also to protect us, our families and our workers while using chemicals on the farm. Pat’s talks also provide CORE pesticide credits to attendees with Pesticide Licenses.
