The 2013 Winter Meeting and Trade Show was held at the Rutger’s EcoComplex in Columbus, New Jersey on January 26, 2013. The meeting was a terrific success with approximately 90 attendees and 8 vendors. Lunch was catered by Mastoris’ Catering. Speakers included:
- Douglas H. Fisher, Secretary of Agriculture, State of New Jersey: Brief synopsis of the current happenings of the agriculture community in NJ.
- Richard Buckley, Director Rutgers Plant Diagnostic Laboratory: What is the Plant Diagnostic Lab and how can it help you to solve pest and disease problems in Christmas trees?
- Sarah Pickel, IPM Education Specialist, PA Department of Agriculture: Pest scouting and management throughout the growing season
- Thomas Rathier, Emeritus Soil Scientist, The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station: Soil/root environments and their relationships with tree growth and health.
- Dr. George Hamilton, Extension Specialist in Pest Management, Rutgers Cooperative Extension: Pesticide Safety and Regulations for 2013. Core credits were issued.
